Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a laboratory technician with experience in rodent handling and molecular biology techniques to work on several exciting projects involving rodent modeling of genetic epilepsies and precision therapy. This individual will, under direction of the PI, help develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.
Responsibilities*
  • Management of transgenic mouse colonies.
  • Help develop, design, and perform rodent genotyping according to plan, Collect data from genotyping and analyze results independently.
  • Help develop, design, and perform rodent EEG/immunochemistry experiments and analyze results independently.
  • In addition, the applicant will help with lab organization and general laboratory duties, and have day-to-day oversight of individual tasks/projects within the lab. Candidate will maintain independence in activities and decision making authority for their work portfolio.

Required Qualifications*
Inter:
Master's degree and 4 to 5 years related experience.
Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.
Rodent handling experience, including EEG and surgical skills and basic laboratory skills are required.
Assoc:
Bachelor degree in related field and 1-3 years-related experience required. May require supervisory and budget administration experience. Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position
Rodent handling experience and basic laboratory skills are required
