Inside Sales Representative II
Location: Remote | Minimal Travel (~10%)


PacBio is seeking a high-energy, opportunity-focused Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to accelerate growth across the life-science and genomics markets. You will be on the front-line uncovering, qualifying, and nurturing opportunities that expand PacBio's reach. You will also grow recurring revenue through service contract renewals and instrument consumables utilization. Your success will be measured by the strength of the pipeline you build and the incremental revenue you drive from both new prospects and our installed base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a team-first mindset: Serve as the bridge between marketing campaigns, inbound demand, and field execution, ensuring high alignment and clear communication across teams.
  • Drive prospecting strategy: Execute targeted outbound and inbound campaigns to generate high-quality leads and early-stage opportunities.
  • Own top-of-funnel growth: Research, map, and expand a robust pipeline of accounts, contacts, and qualified opportunities.
  • Qualify opportunities: Assess customer needs, timelines, budgets, and decision processes according to PacBio's sales methodology.
  • Service contract renewals: Proactively engage existing customers ahead of contract expiration to secure on-time renewals and upsell multi-year agreements.
  • Instrument consumables utilization: Partner with the local sales/service teams and PacBio services providers to win projects and drive consumables pull-through on active instruments.
  • Collaborate with field sales: Work closely with Territory Account Managers, Genomics Sales Specialists, and Regional Sales Directors to ensure seamless hand-off of qualified opportunities and coordinated follow-up.
  • Leverage the tech stack: Utilize CRM, prospecting, and marketing-automation tools to track activity, monitor pipeline health, and optimize outreach cadence.
  • Deliver customer insights: Feed real-time intelligence on market trends, competitive positioning, and customer pain points back to Marketing and Field Sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genetics, or a related life-science field.
  • Solid grasp of genetics and molecular-biology applications.
  • 2+ years in sales development, inside sales, or pipeline-focused roles within life sciences, genomics, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed pipeline-creation targets and renewal quotas.
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Relentless focus on building long-term customer relationships and revenue opportunities.
  • Enthusiasm for cross-functional teamwork with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hands-on genomics or laboratory research experience.
  • 2+ years in opportunity development or sales within life sciences, genomics, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree (M.S.) in Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) and/or genotyping technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Comfort with prospecting tools, CRM systems, and multichannel outbound strategies.
