Job description

QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, a leader in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, and manufacturing industry, is looking for a talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team. In this role, you'll work with a highly enthusiastic team, contributing in a world-class manufacturing industry in Puerto Rico & USA.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
  • The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
  • In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
  • These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
  • The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.
  • Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
  • Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
  • Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
  • Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
  • General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
  • Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Natural Science (Biology or Environmental Science), Statistics, Mathematics or Information Systems.
  • Interpret field observations (agronomic scouting)
  • Standardize qualitative data (e.g., scales, categories)
  • Relate observations to quantitative metrics (e.g., IPM applications)
  • Leadership and Organizational Skills
  • The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
  • 1st & 2nd shift.
  • Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
