Part Time Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

We are currently seeking a Part Time Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Fayette County Sheriff's Office located in Fayetteville, Georgia.

About this position:

The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of a physician in a correctional environment and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, performing assessments, diagnosing patients, and medication management.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Certifications / Experience:

  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner in the state the facility is located (maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility)
  • 1 year of direct work experience, preferred
  • Active CPR certification
  • Appropriate certification to write prescriptions under the authority of the Collaborative Physician in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Job Type: Part Time

  • Correctional experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available shift:

  • 8A-5P (Day Shift) - 16 hours per week

General duties include but not limited to:

  • Conduct on-site or telehealth (site specific) chronic care clinics and sick call as needed
  • Ensure progress notes are documented in appropriate format are problem oriented, correspond to the therapeutic order and is dated, timed and legible
  • Adhere to the established formulary before using non-formulary
  • Regularly review cases that require ongoing medical/pharmaceutical attention
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures and NCCHC standards where applicable
  • Assist in designating the level of care to be performed and the necessary equipment needed
  • Consult with multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive adequate care
