East Coast Business Development Manager
Location: Atlanta, Raleigh, or Boston metro area (remote / territory-based)
Status: Full-time, exempt
Compensation: Base + uncapped variable (TBD)
Travel: 40-60% within East Coast territory
Position Summary
The East Coast Business Development Manager owns territory development and design-win generation across assigned East Coast accounts. This is a hunter role for an early-career, hungry technical salesperson who wants to step into a territory they can call their own. The role combines new business development, account growth, and rep group management across Genesis Technology's interconnect, connector, and cable assembly portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a territory plan covering target accounts and rep groups in the East Coast region.
• Generate new design-win opportunities through outbound prospecting, customer visits, rep group engagement, and trade show activity.
• Build and manage relationships with customer engineering and supply chain decision-makers.
• Manage and develop manufacturer rep group performance within the territory.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, program management, applications, and factory teams to support quoting and design-win execution.
• Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and account intelligence.
• Travel to customers, rep groups, and trade shows on a regular cadence (40-60%).
• Report on territory performance and pipeline health to the National Sales Manager on a regular cadence.
• Represent Genesis Technology professionally in all customer-facing interactions.
Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of B2B technical sales experience in interconnects, connectors, cable assemblies, electronic components, or directly adjacent products.
• Demonstrated track record of generating new business through high-end prospecting activity.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
• Technical aptitude — ability to read drawings, understand basic electrical and mechanical specifications, and hold credible conversations with customer engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Atlanta, Raleigh, or Boston metro areas.
