Job description

Our award-winning theme park is seeking a Lift Maintenance Mechanic that will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining the Anakeesta Lift System, installed by Leitner-Poma.  A lift maintenance mechanic must work well independently and with others and understands the need to help in a variety of areas. Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for maintaining lift files. 

  • Ensure that ride stations, motor rooms, tools, equipment, and shop areas are kept clean and in operating condition. 

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems relating to the lift. 

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on aerial lifts and other equipment as assigned. 

  • Responsible for ensuring that the department’s responsibilities are compliant with Poma and ANSI rules and regulations. 

  • Responsible for conduct, training, lift department policies, and ensuring paperwork and procedures are completed in a timely manner. 

  • Responsible for development, communication, and execution of summer and winter maintenance programs. Winter maintenance programs include inspection of work performed to maximize ride safety and reliability. 

  • Prepare daily reports of the systems operations, logging all systems and their operation as defined in a daily task/safety log with assigned mechanics. 

  • Conduct daily safety procedures, weather assessments and maintenance before providing an “all clear” or any other recommended action to the MOD’s and Director of Guest Services regarding operation. 

  • Comply with and abide by ANSI, Forest Service FSM 2340, 2720, 7320 doc, OSHA regulations 

  • Using hand tools, wrenches, grinders, drills, presses, chain and cable hoists, welding equipment, cutters, will train assigned personnel as to the proper maintenance of all equipment, including the use of parts and tools provided by manufacturers. 

  • Must be able to perform complex tasks including diagnosis/repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, gearbox, generator, tool and hardware fabrication, and low voltage electrical control systems. 

  • The Main focus of this position is maintenance of the lift offered at Anakeesta. However, you will be required to work with the entire operations team in various capacities to support business operations. 

  • Must be able to complete work orders in our digital management system, HIPPO. 

  • PLC and HMI experience preferred 

  • Keeping all work areas clean and in operating condition 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

  • Experience in cable lifts, ski lifts, coasters and other such equipment preferred. 

  • Mechanic experience with heavy equipment, engines, parts, etc. 

  • Electrical background preferred. 

  • Experience in detailed work orders, documentation, and inventory. 

  • Working knowledge of welding and fabricating, rigging, fall protection, and inspection process. 

  • Proficient with computer programs: Microsoft, excel, and work order management systems. 

  • Ability to locate and diagnose problems, plan and perform necessary repairs, and report major problems to leadership. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy. 

  • High level of professionalism 

  • Must be able to operate an ATV, UTV, and other vehicles 

  • Familiar with safety and fall protection 

  • Rigging experience is preferred 

  • Able to work in all-weather conditions. 

  • Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays and overtime as needed 

  • Overnight availability if necessary 

Physical Requirements 

  • Able to lift 25 lbs., and occasionally team lift and or move up to 100lbs 

  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, kneel, stoop, climb, balance, crouch, crawl, and stand for long periods of time and at elevated heights 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain, sun, heat, snow, extreme cold and wind without protection 

  • Sitting at a desk or computer work station or standing for up to 8 hours a day is to be expected
