Description
MD&A is looking for a trustworthy and proactive Engineering Manager with a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in the power industry and proven leadership skills for our Generator division. Engineering managers can expect to multitask at any given time, build and manage diverse teams of engineers, formulate and execute strategies, and coordinate with other managers.
To be successful as an Engineering Manager, you should have exceptional foresight, great communication skills, working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another, and an aptitude for managing risk. Ideally, candidates will have proof of their supervisory and technical skills, and an appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Proposing and managing budgets and score cards for each project.
  • Manage the reverse engineering team in the STL shop.
  • Manage the resources on site for multiple projects.
  • Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time.
  • Researching and developing designs and products.
  • Support our training process and development of new procedures.
  • Support the field teams and the shop teams as applicable.
  • Ensuring all generator products have the support from the engineering management.
  • Supporting the reverse engineering team in manufacturing / reviewal and approval (maybe change manufacturing out for reviewal and approval, your call) of drawings, material and new equipment.
  • Spot checks on critical dimensions when material is ordered and delivered to the shop to support continued winding operations.
  • Report review of on-site completed reports before the report is issued to the customer.
  • Coordinating 3rd party subcontractors to support on site operations.
  • Assist in the engineering mentoring program

Requirements
  • Must reside in the STL Mo repairs facility.
  • Master's degree in engineering management, technical management, or business administration.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in the power industry.
  • Must have generator field and stator experience.
