Job description

This is an exciting and pivotal time to join Fisher Investments. Our Technology & Transformation organization is expanding its Generative AI capabilities to support international growth and modernize how critical departments operate across the firm.

In this role, you'll help shape how AI is responsibly designed, built, and deployed at scale—moving beyond experimentation into production ready, enterprise solutions. You'll work with AI engineers, platform teams, and partners who value thoughtful design, collaboration, and long-term impact over quick fixes.

The Opportunity:

As an AI Engineer on our Data & AI team, you'll design, build, and improve AI solutions that are secure, scalable, and integrated into real workflows. You'll partner closely with AI leads, ML engineers, and application developers to bring AI capabilities into production in a predictable and scalable way. You will report to the AI Team Leader, Technology Innovation.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy generative AI models into scalable production environments
  • Build and maintain APIs and microservices using FastAPI to expose AI capabilities enterprise wide
  • Collaborate with the AI Infrastructure team to architect robust LLM pipelines, including training workflows and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems
  • Integrate AI solutions into enterprise applications using secure, cloud-native architectures and best practices
  • Ensure AI models are explainable, reliable, and compliant with regulatory and internal governance standards
  • Continuously monitor and optimize model performance using evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and iterative fine-tuning

Your Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience building and evolving software solutions with increasing scope
  • Experience designing and delivering data-driven applications that solve meaningful business problems
  • Extensive experience using Python to develop scalable solutions across a range of business or technical challenges
  • Hands-on experience building AI-powered solutions using large language models (LLMs), embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) approaches
  • Familiarity with generative and multimodal AI models and their real-world applications
  • Experience working with cloud-based AI infrastructure and modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Preferred Experience:

  • GPU-accelerated training and inference using NVIDIA technologies, including NIM and NeMo frameworks
  • Familiarity with AI agentic frameworks and deploying AI agents in production environments

Compensation:

  • $130,000 - $180,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
