Job description

Role:  Creative Director - Generative AI & Design

Location:  New York City

About the role:

This is a senior creative leadership role at the intersection of generative AI and luxury brand craft. You'll define and embed AI-assisted creative workflows across the studio, establish quality benchmarks for AI-driven output, and ensure innovation never comes at the expense of brand integrity or aesthetic standards.

You'll lead and develop a multidisciplinary creative team, own the creative vision for beauty and wellbeing clients, and work closely with senior creative leadership to advance the studio's AI capabilities. This role calls for both creative authority - a refined eye for craft and brand - and the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire the team around you.

What you will be doing:

  • Set the creative direction for AI-driven campaigns, content, and brand experiences across beauty and wellbeing clients, ensuring all output meets premium brand standards across all channels.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the creative team - building generative AI capability while cultivating a culture of craft, curiosity, and continuous learning.
  • Establish quality standards and governance frameworks for GenAI implementation across the studio, from ideation through to final delivery.
  • Lead the studio's responsible and effective use of generative AI tools - including image generation, language models, and AI-integrated production platforms - and integrate these into repeatable creative workflows.
  • Direct creative reviews and provide clear, structured feedback that consistently raises the quality of the team's output.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, presenting AI-enabled creative solutions with confidence and clarity while protecting brand integrity.
  • Collaborate with senior creative leadership to develop the studio's GenAI strategy and contribute best practice to the wider OLIVER network.
  • Manage studio-level creative and production budgets - overseeing annual spend, presenting financial performance to client and OLIVER stakeholders, and maintaining accountability for the studio's financial health.
  • Partner with production, strategy, and account teams to deliver projects on time, on brief, and on budget.
  • Stay across the evolving generative AI landscape, identifying emerging tools, techniques, and applications relevant to luxury and beauty brand work.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 10-15 years of experience in creative leadership, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craft and brand thinking across luxury, beauty, or wellbeing sectors.
  • A refined aesthetic sensibility and a clear point of view on what great looks like in premium brand environments.
  • A track record of leading, developing, and mentoring creative teams - including growing individual talent over time.
  • Experience directing multi-market or global brand programmes.
  • Advanced proficiency with generative AI tools - including image generation platforms (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion, or similar), large language models (ChatGPT or similar), and AI-integrated creative production workflows.
  • Experience designing and embedding AI-assisted workflows at team or studio level, with clear quality standards for AI output.
  • A strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI, and the judgment to know when it elevates creative work and when it detracts from it.
  • A track record of successful GenAI implementation in live creative projects, ideally within luxury, beauty, or wellbeing brand contexts.
  • Experience presenting AI-enabled creative work to senior client stakeholders and building client confidence in new creative territory.
  • Confidence managing complex client relationships across multi-market or global programmes.
  • Experience overseeing studio-level creative or production budgets and presenting financial performance to senior stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite alongside generative AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with digital-first creative development across social, digital, and content production channels.
