Job description

C3 AI has an immediate opening for a Director, Analyst Relations, located onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, California. This role owns and scales the Analyst Relations (AR) function and is responsible for communicating and promoting the unique value proposition of the C3 Agentic AI Platform, C3 AI Applications, and C3 Generative AI to industry analysts worldwide.

As the Director, Analyst Relations, you will lead the AR function end to end. You will be the primary point of contact between C3 AI and the analyst community, defining the AR strategy, identifying target analysts and firms, setting engagement objectives, preparing tailored narratives, and orchestrating executive and subject-matter-expert participation. You will drive C3 AI's position in the major industry evaluations - Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Wave, and IDC MarketScape - and translate analyst insight into competitive, product, and go-to-market intelligence for the business.

The ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller with a deep understanding of AI, generative AI, and machine learning; a strategic thinker who balances executional excellence with long-term positioning; and an executive-level communicator who conveys complex concepts through concise, clear messaging. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with Product, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, Sales, Customer, and Executive teams.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Own, lead, and scale the Analyst Relations function and overall AR strategy at C3 AI.
  • Develop program-wide and analyst-level goals and concrete, measurable objectives that advance C3 AI's thought leadership and market position.
  • Build and maintain the annual AR plan, engagement calendar, and budget; manage analyst-firm subscriptions, seat allocation, and internal access to inquiries.

Analyst Targeting & Engagement

  • Identify target analysts and firms aligned with C3 AI's business, product, and industry domains, and build an actionable coverage map.
  • Define individual engagement plans and lead analyst engagements across briefings, inquiries, advisory sessions, and strategy days.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong, trusted relationships with key analysts covering enterprise AI, data platforms, generative AI, and relevant industry domains.

Evaluations & Competitive Positioning

  • Identify and lead C3 AI's participation in key evaluations - including Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Wave, and IDC MarketScape - and secure and defend a leadership position for C3 AI.
  • Manage the full evaluation lifecycle: RFI/questionnaire responses, demo scenarios and scripts, reference-customer coordination, briefing decks, and disclosure and submission timelines.
  • Proactively shape analyst thought leadership and industry perspectives across market guides, hype cycles, forecasts, and forward-looking research.

Narrative & Enablement

  • Prepare tailored product and customer narratives for individual analysts in collaboration with Product, Product Marketing, and Customer teams.
  • Prepare, coach, and dry-run executives and subject-matter experts for analyst briefings; build briefing decks, talk tracks, and messaging frameworks.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications/PR and Product Marketing to amplify favorable analyst positions, reports, and quotes across channels.

Insight, Measurement & Reporting

  • Synthesize analyst feedback into competitive, product, and go-to-market intelligence and channel it back to Product, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Enable Sales to leverage analyst reports, rankings, and quotes throughout the sales cycle.
  • Define, track, and report AR KPIs - e.g., analyst sentiment and mindshare, share of voice, evaluation rankings and trajectory, briefing and inquiry volume, and influence on pipeline.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate AR program status, results, and risks to executive leadership and the broader organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM field.
  • 10+ years of experience in analytical enterprise or B2B environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading Analyst Relations for enterprise software companies.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving positioning in industry evaluations such as Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Wave, or IDC MarketScape.
  • Working expertise in analytics, AI/ML, deep learning, generative AI, and data science, with the ability to engage analysts credibly on technical topics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with strong executive presence.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to mobilize Product, Customer, and executive leadership.
  • Strong strategic thinking, program and project management, problem-solving, and a bias for action.
  • Passion for self-learning and staying current in relevant domains.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master of Science.
  • An established network of relationships with analysts covering enterprise AI, data platforms, and enterprise software.
  • Experience managing analyst-firm contracts, budgets, and an AR team or agency.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.
