Description
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading the sales and marketing department of the hotel, overseeing strategies to drive revenue growth, market share, and brand awareness. This role involves developing and implementing innovative marketing campaigns, fostering key relationships, and ensuring effective sales strategies. The Director of Sales and Marketing will collaborate with senior leadership to meet business goals and improve the hotel's competitive positioning in the market.
HOW YOU'LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet revenue targets for room sales, group bookings, and other hotel services.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team, set clear goals, and monitor performance.
  • Manage key client relationships, including corporate, group, and leisure accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
  • Negotiate and close business deals with high-profile clients and agencies.
  • Develop and implement the hotel's marketing plan in line with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee all marketing initiatives including digital marketing, print advertising, promotions, and public relations efforts.
  • Manage the hotel's online presence, including the website, social media, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure that branding and messaging are consistent across all channels and platforms.
  • Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget.
  • Analyze sales data, track progress towards revenue goals, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Forecast future business levels and adjust sales strategies as needed.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set developmental goals, and provide guidance and support for career growth.
  • Ensure the team is knowledgeable about the hotel's offerings and the competitive landscape.
  • Work closely with other hotel departments, including operations, revenue management, and catering, to align sales efforts with overall business needs.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to represent the hotel and expand its market presence.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry, with a proven track record in leadership and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of the hotel industry, sales techniques, and marketing trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in using marketing tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
