Job Title

Radiology Technologist/Mammogram Tech

Department

MGH Radiology

Full Time/PRN

PRN (As Needed)

Job Summary

Responsible for obtaining diagnostic quality radiographic and mammogram images according to pre-established guidelines. Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of a radiographer program.
  • Completion of eight (8) hours of digital mammographer training.
  • Completion of forty (40) hours of training in mammography.
  • Performance of twenty-five (25) mammograms under direct supervision of an MQSA qualified individual.
  • Licensure in Medical Radiation with the State of Mississippi required.
  • ARRT registration in Radiology required.
  • BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of clinical Radiation Technology experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Obtain diagnostic quality radiographic and mammography images according to established guidelines.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
  • Operate radiographic and mammography equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain image quality and accurate documentation.
  • Follow departmental productivity and efficiency standards.
  • Provide quality patient care throughout the imaging process.

  • Maintain required licensure and certifications.
  • Follow departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Promote patient safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist with patient positioning and transfers.
  • Ability to safely operate radiographic and mammography equipment.
