Operations Intern
Naylor Commercial Interiors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Intern to support project management, field coordination, and operational execution across active construction projects.
This role is designed for someone interested in construction operations, project management, and field leadership. The Operations Intern will gain hands-on exposure to commercial construction processes while supporting project teams with coordination, documentation, scheduling, pricing, and communication.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, professional, and eager to learn how commercial construction projects are managed from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Operations
- Assist Project Managers, Superintendent/Foreman, and Estimators with daily project coordination
- Attend job walks, site visits, and preconstruction meetings
- Document field conditions, project progress, and coordination items
- Support project scheduling and task tracking
- Assist with material tracking and procurement coordination
- Help maintain organized project documentation and records
Submittals & RFIs
- Assist with preparation, tracking, and management of submittals
- Support RFI creation, tracking, and follow-up communication
- Coordinate document flow between field teams, vendors, and general contractors
- Help ensure timely responses and document organization
- Maintain updated project logs and reporting
Estimating & Pricing Support
- Assist with pricing requests, takeoffs, and change order documentation
- Support estimate organization and bid preparation
- Coordinate vendor and general contractor pricing requests
- Help review drawings and project specifications
- Assist with quantity tracking and project cost organization
Field & Client Support
- Support communication between field crews and office staff
- Help coordinate project logistics and scheduling needs
- Participate in client meetings and project walkthroughs when applicable
- Assist with closeout documentation and punch list coordination
- Help maintain professional communication with customers and trade partners

- Basic understanding of construction or willingness to learn quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in construction management, operations, engineering, or business
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, or construction software is a plus
- Ability to read drawings or willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
