Position Summary LINCOLN COUNTY IS CURRENTLY LOOKING TO HIRE A NEW TRANSIT DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR $121,389.00 - $163,137.00 annually (DOE) BENEFITS INCLUDE: 11% County contribution to 401(k) Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance. County pays 90% of the premium. Life Insurance & Long-term Disability; AD&D coverage options

Paid Time Off (PTO) accrued at 10.16 hours per pay period. 11 paid holidays. Post-Employment Health Plan Account

Lincoln County Benefits | Lincoln County, OR ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 25-28 employees including drivers, dispatch, and administrative staff Approximately $10.5 million 2026/2027 Budget 9 active bus routes including a Coast to Valley Express connecting Newport residents to Corvallis and Albany 19 busses in fleet that travel approximately 550,000 miles annually 296,596 rides were provided during FY 2025/2026 Dial-a-Ride services offered Under the direction of the County Administrator, the Transit Department Director is responsible for the general management, administration, department policy development and implementation, planning and direction of the Transit Department and is responsible for supervising all employees of the Transit Department. This role also involves implementing policies set forth by the Board of Commissioners (BOC)

The person in this position plans and manages the annual District operating budget and work plans and acts as Federal Transit Administration Drug & Alcohol Program Manager. Transit Department Director Job Description EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Five years of public transit related experience, including program development and management, grant writing, budget development and oversight, supervision of employees and volunteers. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the above-described duties as determined by the County.

Certified Community Transportation Manager (CCTM) certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire required. Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire. Lincoln County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Newport is the County seat and the location of Yaquina Bay where the ocean industry is centered. The bay and surrounding areas are home to the large commercial and recreational fishing fleet, the Coast Guard, NOAA, OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center, Newport Aquarium, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the new OMSI Day Camp. Oregon Coast Community College is also located here with branches in Waldport and Lincoln City.

Many festivals take place in Lincoln County throughout the year including the Wine and Seafood Festival, Celtic Festival, Yachats Mushroom Festival, Toledo Summer Festival, Siletz Pow Wow, Lincoln City Kite Festival, Depoe Bay Salmon Bake, the Lincoln County Fair and more. From Cascade Head at the north to Cape Perpetua at the south, Lincoln County boasts more than 40 federal, state, and local parks, along with two wilderness areas, providing an abundance of recreational opportunities for camping, fishing, hiking, beachcombing, whale watching and more.
