As a Starbucks director of PartnerResources (HR) you will lead our Partner Resources Organization in driving and executing priorities that fuel business growth, unleash leader capability and elevate the experience of our partners (employees). We are looking for someone who leads through our Starbucks Mission & Values and has a track record of achieving excellence through delivering on priorities, problem-solving, building capability and leadership, and developing high performing teams. This position will support the Canadian retail operations business as well as the Canadian Supply Chain function and lead a team of 5 Sr HR business partners and 1 HR associate.

Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together: Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Supports the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage. Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results: Develops and maintains an annual budget, and quarterly forecast updates.

Plans and manages business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives. Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization. Works in coordination with business leaders and designated financial representative to ensure cost efficiencies through the appropriate allocation of financial resources and utilization of tracking tools and measurements.

Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities: Collaborates with shared services groups to meet business unit objectives. Partners with staffing services representatives to execute staffing and recruiting strategies that support customer needs. Partners with the total pay department to execute and deliver compensation and benefits programs that support and maintain all Employer of choice initiatives.

Partners with the learning and development department to identify, develop and execute learning and training services and programs that support customer group needs. Consults and advises client group leadership concerning work unit performance and effectiveness; and corresponding individual performance and development that support organizational performance. Consults with appropriate Partner Resources partners, and legal department on partner relations concerns and complaints to ensure prompt response, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external employment laws and regulations.

Conducts and provides direction to Partner Resources consultants relating to investigations for employment-related claims. Monitors and reports on organizational trends through data analysis and metric. Monitors work unit performance effectiveness and individual performance and effectiveness trends.

Provides advice and consultative support to senior management to ensure performance management, staffing, succession planning, and learning and development strategies support business unit goals. Partner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams: Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results. Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews We'd love to hear from people with: 8+ years of experience consulting with senior leaders on the design and execution of HR strategies-including organizational development, change management, leadership development, staffing, succession planning, and performance management.

8+ years of HR leadership experience, managing teams with broad HR generalist responsibilities across staffing, partner relations, learning, and organizational development. Expertise in key HR specialties such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, and workforce planning. Strong knowledge of employment, labor, and HR-related laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret legislation, advise leaders, and mitigate legal risks.

Progressive HR experience in a high-growth or complex multi-unit environment, ideally with retail, hospitality, or field-based operations. Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while advancing culture, capability, and business outcomes. Outstanding troubleshooting, attention to detail, written and spoken communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits The typical hiring range for this position is $145,500 - $208,810 CAD annually. Your base pay will reflect the market location and may vary based on your experience, skills, and internal equity.
