About ATS Traffic:
ATS Traffic is a family-owned business that has been getting people home safely since 1966. We provide traffic control, on-street services and signage products and services, currently operating out of offices across Canada and the United States.

About the Position

Do you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that builds something meaningful? ATS Traffic is hiring Roadway Safety Installation Laborers to support highway and municipal safety projects based out of Edmonton, Alberta.

This is a hands-on, field-based role working alongside experienced crews installing critical highway safety infrastructure such as road signs, guardrails, and high-tension cable barrier systems. Projects are primarily within Edmonton and surrounding areas, with travel across Alberta as required. No two days are the same work locations, tasks, and conditions vary making this a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy variety and physical work.

This is a seasonal position with strong potential for returning employment and career advancement, as ATS is proud to promote from within.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation and removal of highway safety equipment. (signs, guardrail, high tension cable barrier)
  • Operate hand and power tools. 
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including lifting, digging, and material handling.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining safe work zones on roadways, including signage, cones, and traffic control device
  • Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Follow company safety guidelines and procedures consistently.

Qualifications:

  • Previous highway maintenance or construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract (mandatory).
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
