Job description

Skillforce is seeking dependable and hardworking Skilled Laborers for a 3-week project in Sterling, VA. This contract role offers the opportunity to work alongside a respected contractor supporting maintenance operations on specialized cooling equipment used in large industrial facilities and data centers.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have strong mechanical aptitude, and can follow detailed instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Skilled Laborers will work under the direction of a Lead Field Technician and assist with daily field operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Skilled Laborers Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance activities on outdoor industrial cooling equipment
  • Spray and rinse condenser units with water to remove dirt, debris, and buildup
  • Remove and replace air filtration components as directed
  • Operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively
  • Follow instructions from the Lead Field Technician and established work procedures
  • Support safe, efficient completion of daily project tasks
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Adhere to all site-specific safety requirements and company policies
  • Report issues, delays, safety concerns, and submit accurate daily timekeeping (clock in/out) to the Lead Field Technician

Skilled Laborers Qualifications

  • Previous experience in general labor, HVAC, maintenance, construction, or similar hands-on work preferred
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn new processes quickly
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
  • Ability to pass a background check

Required Certification

  • OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
