Program Structure

  • Juniors: Two rotations required
  • Seniors & Graduate Students: One rotation required
 

About the Position 

  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with suppliers, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to support aircraft production schedules.
  • Analyze inventory levels, work-in-progress (WIP), and material shortages to identify risks and recommend solutions.
  • Track critical parts and production issues, helping develop recovery plans to minimize schedule impacts.
  • Review and maintain planning data within MRP/ERP systems, including reorder points, lead times, safety stock, and production parameters.
  • Generate reports and provide status updates on aircraft flow, material shortages, work orders, and cost performance.
  • Investigate material discrepancies, quality concerns, receiving issues, and inventory variances.
  • Collaborate with Materials, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, and Supply Chain teams to achieve production goals.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, inventory accuracy, and process optimization.

Preferred degree programs

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following disciplines: 
    • Supply Chain
    • Logistics
    • Finance
    • Operations
  • Must be available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during the Spring 2027 semester, beginning in January 2027.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 (without rounding); must be listed on resume.

 

Desired Skills or Hobbies/Interests that align with the position

  • PC experience and knowledge of automated systems.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Operate personal computers; experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience desired but not required.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
    Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
    1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
    2. Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date.
    3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume.
    4. Rotation Requirements: Juniors – 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students – 1 rotation.
    5. Minimum duration: 12 weeks (summer); 14–16 weeks (spring and fall).
    6. Must be onsite; this is not a remote position.
    7. Must have reliable transportation.
    This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
