  • First Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 

Full-Time: Monday - Friday + Occasional Overtime as Needed

Job Summary

The General Maintenance Worker will perform semi-skilled tasks such as maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and general grounds maintenance of our buildings and facilities.


Essential Duties

  • Assist in the installation, repair, maintenance, and remodeling of:
    • Plumbing and pipefitting.
    • Lighting, motors, generators, conduit. 
    • Carpentry (rough and finish). 
    • Ceiling and flooring. 
    • Locks and closing devices. 
    • Doors, windows, fencing and associated hardware. 
    • Irrigation. 
  • General grounds - mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, pruning, mulching, weeding, and trash clean up. 
  • Operation of hand tools, power tools, assorted machinery. 
  • Correction of safety hazards. 

Required Qualifications

  • Basic principles, equipment, methods and materials for building and grounds maintenance.
  • Operation and maintenance of equipment. 
  • Shop mathematics. 
  • Basic record keeping. 
  • Oral and written communication. 
  • Must be able to climb and work from heights (48'). 
  • Driver's License required. 

Work Environment

This job environment entails with exposure to non-controlled temperature and moderate noises. There will be frequent exposure to the sun and inclement weather. 

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Slip-resistant, safety-toes shoes. 
  • Eye protection. 
  • Hearing protection.

Physical Requirements

Strength and mobility to work outdoors, with or without shelter in extreme conditions. Ability to operate hand and power tools with both arms, to push and pull equipment and reach or work overhead frequently. Stamina to perform physical labor, stand and walk long hours, climbing, working in confined or awkward spaces, stooping, lifting, bending and carrying materials up to 100 pounds and frequently carrying 20-50 pounds. Vision to read blueprint and communicate in written words. Hearing and speech to communicate hazards and instructions in person, and over a telephone or radio. This position is also subject to noise, electrical hazards, dust and noxious odors.
