Job description

Job Title: Shop HelperJob Description

This role supports daily operations in a production shop by assisting with unloading materials, measuring and cutting steel and wood, and helping with shipping and receiving activities. You will work closely with experienced team members, gaining hands-on training and expanding your skills as you take initiative and apply yourself in the shop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Unload steel and other materials safely from trucks using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Measure and cut steel accurately according to specified dimensions and instructions.
  • Measure and cut wood to precise lengths and sizes for production needs.
  • Support shipping and receiving by helping load and unload orders, organize materials, and prepare items for delivery.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to complete basic production and shop tasks.
  • Apply basic shop math to verify measurements and ensure accuracy in cutting and layout.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following shop procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Assist other team members with general production tasks as needed and learn new skills by actively participating in daily operations.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and consistently.
  • Experience using hand tools in a production or shop environment.
  • Experience using power tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic shop math skills, including measuring, addition, and subtraction for cutting materials.

Pay and Benefits
