Position: General Accounting Supervisor

Position Overview

FocusPoint is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify a General Accounting Supervisor who can step in immediately and stabilize a critical accounting function during a period of transition. This role sits within a high‑visibility accounting group and reports directly to a senior leader who recently stepped into the department head role. You will oversee core general ledger activity, lead inventory‑related accounting processes, and manage a small team of accounting personnel.

This is an ideal fit for a supervisor‑level accountant who thrives in fast‑moving environments, enjoys owning complex reconciliations, and can confidently lead both internal and external team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own general ledger accounting for assigned business areas, ensuring accuracy and full GAAP compliance

  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Lead process improvement initiatives across accounting workflows

  • Train, mentor, and guide junior accounting staff and outsourced team members (Infosys group)

  • Manage inventory accounting and reconciliation processes, including RightAngle/ETRM system activity

  • Oversee inventory intermediation agreement accounting

  • Complete asphalt business reconciliations (straightforward process)

  • Support ad‑hoc accounting requests and special projects as assigned

  • Partner closely with the department leader to maintain continuity and stability during the transition period

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and journal entry expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise accounting personnel

  • Experience working with outsourced or offshore accounting teams

  • Proven competency in process improvement and team building

  • RightAngle or other ETRM system experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to work onsite at least three days per week
