Job Requirements

Current Electric, Inc. has served Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan since 1989, providing high quality residential electrical services. They are known for strong troubleshooting expertise, professional workmanship, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. They invest in their employees and support long‑term, stable careers in the electrical trade.


They are seeking an experienced Residential Electrician with a minimum of 4 years of residential electrical experience. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined electrician who excels at electrical troubleshooting and takes pride in quality, code‑compliant work.


Union membership is not required at the time of hire, however candidates must be willing to join the union upon employment, and Current Electric supports and assists electricians throughout the union onboarding process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues accurately and efficiently
  • Complete panel upgrades, lighting installations, outlets, switches, and circuits
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and electrical schematics
  • Ensure all work meets NEC and local code requirements
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding findings and completed work
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Work independently and collaborate with other team members as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of residential electrical experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong hands‑on problem‑solving ability
  • Solid understanding of residential electrical systems and code requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, and on ladders
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Must have hand tools
