Do gemologists make good money?

Gemologists' salaries vary based on experience, location, and certification level, but they generally earn a median annual wage around $50,000 to $70,000. Advanced certifications and working in high-end jewelry or appraisal settings can lead to higher earnings. The profession often requires knowledge of gem identification, grading, and the use of specialized tools like microscopes and refractometers.

What jobs can you get as a gemologist?

A gemologist can work as a jewelry appraiser, gemstone grader, or in gemstone identification and grading laboratories.
