Job description

Brad Foote Gear Works is searching for a number of Machinist to join our team in Cicero, IL. This position will be responsible for Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc). The successful candidate must provide and maintain their own set of basic tools required to effectively carry out assigned responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Set-up, program, operate, and run the machine (experience with 5 axis, milling, manual turning, CNC turning, cell cutting & hobbing, tooth grinding, etc)

Check the Route Sheet, blueprint, and sketch for the operation and instructions and install piece/part into machine

Measure rough material and divide stock to ensure 100% clean up and check run out part in machine

Turn the first side per blueprint and Route Sheet instructions. Check all dimensions, remove the piece part from the machine, and make size corrections

Follow the bar-coding procedures per the SOPs, operate YOUJI VTL, Hofler gear hob/gasher or equivalent plus ancillary equip., true up the outside diameter to run true within spec

Deburr, stamp, inspect and package the parts produced in the cell

Inform supervisor or lead for assisted setups when operation may require indication and alignment

Stamp parts per SOP, follow bar-coding procedures per SOP499

Read and understand drawings of product, and understand all written work instructions

All other duties as assigned
