Job description

Event Assistant (On-Site Events) – Premier Entertainment | Austin, TX

Premier Entertainment, Austin’s top-rated event DJ & entertainment company, performs at 400+ weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations every year. We’re looking for reliable, people-first Event Assistants to support our DJs and event teams on show day.

What you’ll do:

  • Arrive 2–2.5 hours before showtime to support load-in and setup

  • Assist the DJ with AV, lighting, and event flow & coordination

  • Represent Premier professionally

  • Help troubleshoot basic connectivity issues (we’ll train you)

  • Tear down and load out gear at the end of the event

  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients and guests

Training (required):
This role is contingent on the successful completion of Premier’s training program.
All new team members complete structured training in:

  • Event day protocol

  • AV connectivity & basic DJ gear

  • Customer service & professional communication

  • Premier’s culture, inclusivity, and brand standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent and prompt communication

  • Professional, friendly, and service-oriented

  • Problem solver willing to troubleshoot and fix issues without prompting

  • Punctual with reliable transportation (most events are in/around Austin, some travel to surrounding areas)

  • Available Saturdays (plus some Fridays/Sundays)

  • Able to lift/move event gear (up to ~40–50 lbs)

  • Comfortable working evenings/late nights

  • Team player who respects client, venue, and vendor partners

Valuable Optional Skills/Extras:

  • Access to larger vehicles: SUV/Minivan/Truck/Large crossover capable of carrying extra gear will result in increased pay when utilized

  • Experience in the wedding industry

  • Experience in Live events

  • Experience with lighting, sound, or video gear, or concepts thereof

Compensation:

  • Pay varies by event type, duration, and gear responsibilities

  • After training, Event Assistants typically earn $200–$300 per event, with opportunities to grow into higher-paying roles (DJ/Lead) over time. Hourly rates for A/V lead

  • Some events include tips from happy clients

  • Additional opportunities as the company grows
