As a Echocardiogram Sonographer, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview:
The supplemental Pediatric Echocardiogram Sonographer is responsible for providing diagnostic cardiac imaging and detailed patient history and findings to the cardiologist, written and/or verbal; knowledgeable of pediatric echo protocols and charging protocols for The Women's Hospital, Deaconess Riley Clinic and Riley Hospital; knowledgeable of process for reporting critical value readings and tracking as well as transmitting images to on-call physicians. Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Ensures exams are performed within proper timeframe with unexpected findings reported to the Cardiologist.
  • Understands processes for reporting critical value readings and tracking.
  • Provides detailed patient history and findings to the Cardiologist, either verbally or by documentation.
  • On call is required as needed for the department.
  • This position will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program OR have Echo specific experience.
  • Additional job training with the Pediatric Cardiologist until approved to work independently.
  • RCS is required within 12 months of hire (or completion of cross training).
  • BLS is required within 6 months of hire.
