The Complex Gas Upgrades OTR team owns the engineering execution of both complex and extended scope conversions, modifications, and uprates to the global installed fleet of GE Gas Turbines and associated Plant equipment.

What you'll do

As The Complex Gas Upgrades Technical Leader you will provide leadership and technical direction to a team of global requisition engineers supporting Complex Gas Upgrade projects. In this role you will be responsible for managing the ITO to OTR handoff on behalf of the requisition team for all Complex Gas Upgrades projects, supporting initiatives that drive productivity along with providing technical oversight/direction to ensure safety, quality and on time delivery to our GE Vernova Gas Power customers.

  • Manage the ITO to OTR handoff process for Complex Gas Upgrades and assign the incoming orders to the appropriate team members based on workload and technical ability.
  • Collaborate with the GE Vernova Gas Power Sales, Commercial and Application Engineering communities to ensure high quality handovers from ITO to the OTR project team.
  • Systems thinker โ€“ Able to understand, adapt and anticipate the relationships of major equipment inside a combined cycle power plant.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned tasks and personnel, both domestic and global.
  • Lead various initiatives and/or kaizens aimed to drive measurable continuous improvements focused in the areas of SQDC (safety, quality, delivery and cost) and Lean Standard Work for Gas Turbine Services projects.
  • Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues.
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within organization to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
  • Promote professional growth of Requisition Engineers through timely performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrate accountability for functional and business objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of Gas Turbines Power train operation in Peaking and Combined Cycle configurations
  • Knowledge of GE Gas Turbine product lines and systems.
  • Familiar with GT MLI/BOM structure.
  • Proficient in the Gas Turbine Requisition process.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as a high degree of enthusiasm to drive results.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of organizations and individuals in global locations.
  • Ability and an eagerness to challenge the status quo, without allegiance to past or current practices and technology, resulting in the best outcome for GE and our customers.
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of BOP Electrical equipment (Excitation, Load Commutated Inverter, One-line diagrams, Generator Protection, Synchronization, Motor Control Centers) and Pant Communication Networks (GE controllers and DCS) Field experience on GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbines.
Pay & Benefits
  • Base pay range for this profile SPB3 Level position is $111,200.00 - 148,300.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual USD Annual.
  • This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus.
  • For U.S. based candidates only, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00.
  • Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
