For many years, Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) has been a trusted leader in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine, providing advanced care, innovative treatments, and compassionate service to pets and their families across the region. In addition to its flagship hospital, GCVS proudly serves the community through its satellite location in Webster, Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialist- Nasa Parkway, extending access to specialty expertise and high-quality veterinary care closer to home. Equipped with advanced technology and supported by a collaborative team of veterinary professionals, the Webster hospital reflects GCVS's ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for pets while meeting the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

Compensation:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians: $22-$30/ hr. based on experience

  • Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: $18-$28 / hr. based on experience

    • $3/hr. weekend differential (Saturday-Sunday)

Job Description:

As an Emergenc y Veterinary Technician , you will play a vital role in providing life-saving care to pets. Your duties include:

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to all hospitalized and emergency patients.

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.

  • Perform key technical tasks including restraint, venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, lab work, and medication administration.

  • Accurately prepare and administer treatments per veterinary orders and hospital protocols.

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure coordinated, top-level patient care.

  • Respond swiftly to STAT calls and follow emergency care protocols.

  • Create treatment estimates, review plans with clients, process payments, and manage admissions/discharges.

  • Communicate with clients professionally, offering empathy and clear information.

  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.

  • Support hospital cleanliness, safety, and inventory management.

  • Perform anesthesia and sedation following established protocols.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians or Experienced Veterinary Technicians with at least 2 year of experience.

  • Prior experience in Emergency and Critical Care is required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.

  • A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.

  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
