Greystone Golf & Country Club is seeking professional, service-oriented Gate Security Guards to serve as the first point of contact for our residents, members, guests, and vendors. More than simply monitoring access, this role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the safety and security of one of Birmingham's premier private communities and clubs.

As a Gate Security Guard, you will verify visitor access, monitor community entry points, assist with Club events, and provide exceptional customer service with every interaction. You'll work alongside a dedicated security team to help protect our community while representing Greystone with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity.

Essential Functions:
  • Acts as the first impression to the Greystone community and responsible for making it feel safe and welcoming.
  • Monitors assigned gatehouse and controls vehicle access into the community.
  • Verifies visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel through the community's visitor management system (DwellingLive) and established access procedures.
  • Checks identification and verifies resident authorization when required before granting entry.
  • Maintains accurate visitor logs and completes incident, activity, and security reports in a timely manner.
  • Observes and reports suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, accidents, or security concerns to supervisors and law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Assists with traffic flow and access control during club events, tournaments, and other highvolume activities.
  • Utilizes daily guest lists, event rosters, and tee sheets to facilitate efficient guest entry while maintaining security standards.
  • Participates in shift briefings and communicate important information, including security concerns, gate maintenance issues, and special events.
  • Provides exceptional customer service while enforcing community policies and security procedures.
  • Follows all Club safety policies, emergency procedures, and departmental standards.
  • Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn visitor management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform routine patrols for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
