What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Distribution Gas Fuser will be responsible to ensure the achievement of general and specific project requirements. Opportunities for this position are available in Edmonton and surrounding area.

What You'll Do Here:  

  • Interpret construction drawings to ensure precise and effective project execution.
  • Fuse all connections to meet client requirements and quality standards.
  • Handle and distribute construction materials (e.g. load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment, and construction materials; move tools, equipment, and construction materials to and from work areas; remove rubble and other debris).
  • Execute pressure testing on main lines and submit required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with gas utility inspectors to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and ensure all calibrations are up to code.
  • Assist with training new gas fusion personnel.
  • Repetitive movement.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tasks may vary daily depending on site requirements
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Experience working in a similar role within the industry.
  • Valid ATCO or APEX fusion ticket
  • Experience in Distribution Natural Gas Utility installation.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • A safety-conscious attitude.
  • The ability to work with others in a team.
  • Ability to use stairs, ladders, and climb over rough terrain.
  • Ability to work long hours per day sometimes in rough weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • CSTS-2020 Certificate
  • Ground Disturbance II  (Global or Aztec)
  • Regular travel outside of Edmonton to project sites may be required on occasion.

  • Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen.
