COMPANY DESCRIPTION

 

California Bioenergy LLC (CalBio) is one of the country’s leading developers of dairy digester projects. Our projects generate renewable natural gas and electricity which is used as a vehicle fuel to power clean trucks, buses, and cars. Founded in 2006, CalBio works closely with local dairy farmers, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC), the California Energy Commission (CEC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the dairy industry to develop projects that reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs), protect local air and water quality, create local jobs, and provide a new revenue stream along with other meaningful benefits to its dairy partners. Along with its affiliates, Midwest Bioenergy, Northwest Bioenergy, and Southwest Bioenergy, CalBio is undertaking the development, construction, ownership, and operation of dozens of dairy digester projects across the country.


POSITION PURPOSE


Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the Warehouse Clerk is responsible for supporting Maintenance and Operations through warehouse operations, shipping and receiving activities, material staging, warehouse organization, and facility support. This position ensures materials, supplies, media, and equipment are properly received, stored, organized, and distributed to support field operations. The Warehouse Clerk also coordinates material deliveries, warranty returns, and general warehouse housekeeping while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Warehouse Operations

  • Receive, inspect, unload, and organize incoming shipments of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Prepare, package, and ship outbound materials, returns, rebuilds, and warranty items.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Coordinate material deliveries to operational sites as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper billing of inventory and materials to work orders.
  • Assist with warranty claims and return material authorizations (RMAs).
  • Maintain inventory levels while coordinating orders and order discrepancies with the 

purchasing manager.

 

Material Preparation & Support

  • Tarp media storage materials and ensure protection from weather and sun exposure.
  • Re-bag damaged media sacks as necessary.
  • Prepare Geonet materials by measuring, cutting, labeling, rolling, and storing for future use.
  • Stage materials, media, screens, netting, and equipment for scheduled change outs (Opco).
  • Assist planners and maintenance personnel with material preparation for planned work.


Facility & Warehouse Maintenance

  • Perform warehouse housekeeping activities.
  • Assist with minor warehouse repairs and upkeep using hand and power tools.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.


Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all CalBio safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and work from ladders.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Routine rotation of bulk media inventory stored outdoors to ensure First-In, First-Out (FIFO)
  • Tarping outdoor media to protect bags from sun and weather damage with Hay tarps (40 ft x 50ft)
  • Re-bag damaged media bags using a forklift, shovel, and pressure washer.


QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of warehouse, inventory control, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, CMMS, or ERP systems preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, energy, or maintenance environments.
  • Experience with MRO inventory management.
  • Familiarity with eMaintenance or other CMMS platforms.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work locations are industrial and agricultural. When required, possible limited exposure to hazardous materials and/or toxic fumes will require the use of approved personal protective equipment. California Bioenergy will ensure all applicable work rules and safety requirements are closely adhered to. This position will require light lifting (<45 lbs.) and/or climbing ladder and/or stairs.
