Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and technical support for gas turbine engines including ILS documentation and the publication of technical directives
  • Provide technical documentation to support project and program presentations including scheduling and attending project and program reviews
  • Develop the Fleet Quarterly Marine Gas Turbine Program Report
  • Generate and maintain documentation required for the approval process of a Ship Change Document (SCD), including maintenance of SCD documentation tracking, retrieval, and archiving in the Navy Data Environment (NDE)
  • Development of instructions, drawings, and procedures in support of SCD development
  • Provide integrated logistics support including but not limited to, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), configuration management, provisioning, distance support, metrics development and tracking, and supply support to accomplish gas turbine logistics requirements
  • Compile Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) changes and installation kits in support of Alteration Installation Teams (AIT)
  • Provide support for project information management including but not limited to databases, spreadsheets, files, and reports using appropriate Microsoft Office applications including utilizing Marine Gas Turbine Information System (MGTIS) data
Requirements
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) is required for this position
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 1-6 years of professional experience within industry or the military acting as a lead Marine Gas Turbine Engineer, which includes:
    • experience in support of Marine Gas Turbine technical projects, initiatives, systems and procedures
    • experience operating and maintaining Marine Gas Turbines on various ship classes is preferred
  • Knowledge of military specifications and Navy technical documentation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Desired Requirements:
  • Prior Navy service as a Gas Turbine Engineer with rank of E6
  • Holds a Marine Gas Turbine Inspector certification
  • Naval experience in operations / maintenance / troubleshooting / testing of US Navy Marine Gas Turbines
