Looking for a great career opportunity?  Come join Wood as a Pipeline Operator/Compressor Mechanic in Glenrock, WY. The ideal candidate will have experience with compressors, diesel, electrical drives, natural gas engines and pipeline. Wood offers health benefits, 401k, vacation and more. Performs activities related to mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation and/or gas processing facilities.


Salary $38-$43; an hour based on experience

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

  • Experience in oil/gas field is preferred.
  • CO2 operations preferred
  • One call knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of screw & reciprocating compressors
  • Knowledge of oil & gas operations (Amine and Glycol systems, Compression, pipelines, measurement etc.) desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Cygnet (or other SCADA system),
  • Good time management, communication and people skills.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively across cross functional groups
  • 4/10 schedule, but will start as 5/2
  • All offers of employment subject to passing of drug/alcohol screening, Background check and or fit test if required.
  • Ensure operations sites are being maintained in a safe manner.
  • Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotation equipment at various locations including internal combustion, diesel, natural gas powered engines and electrical drivers. Compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, vales, electrical equipment and well equipment.
  • Service, troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair structural, mechanical, electrical and/or well equipment. Conduct perform analyses, including emissions testing
  • Participate in / insure daily communication between operators, supervisor, Marketing and Commercial development.
  • Write, review, and oversee assigned work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas.
  • Become qualified / maintain qualification in assigned DOT pipeline and control room competencies.
  • Cross-train throughout asset area and participate in hands-on training in field operations.
  • Comply with all applicable company procedures and policies as well as state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Be able to operate independently or from the Operations Control Center by monitoring field volumes, rates, levels and alarms, to directly make adjustments or provide guidance to field personnel.

  • Coordinating and planning major overhauls of Compressor packages
  • Routine maintenance and support on reciprocating & screw compressors
  • Work on VRU's and gas lift
  • Coordinating and overseeing major repairs and overhauls on pumps, compressors and engines
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of equipment associated with gas liquefaction and production facilities
  • Working directly with vendors to resolve rotating equipment/parts issues
  • Working directly with engineers to resolve compressor issues
