Job description

Job Summary:
The Plumbing Helper will aid Plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in homes under the direction of a licensed plumber to include pipe installation, replacement of pipes, faucets, unclog toilet, installation of garbage disposal, and adjust water pressure.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists in installation and maintenance of plumbing systems (water distribution and sanitary systems).
  • Assists in inspecting drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Use all necessary tools and equipment such as saws and cutters to perform plumbing installs and repairs.
  • Assists repair and replace damaged parts.
  • Assists with diagnosing problems and/or failures in plumbing systems.
  • Assists with installing various domestic water and vacuum systems.
  • Assists in repairing various systems or components to include toilets, sinks, vents, faucets, water softeners, garbage disposals, sewer lines, vacuum breakers, hot water heaters, etc.
  • Assists with repair of pipes, ensuring items are functional and in safe working condition.
  • Assists with measuring, cutting, threading, bending, reaming, and installing pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings.
  • Assists in locating and marking position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures.
  • Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Previous plumbing experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain truck neatly and with a complete inventory.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Current driver's license and clean driving record required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb and work off ladders.
  • Physically able to work with tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
