Summary of Job This position is mainly garbage collection mid-May through mid-September and a variety of other Public Work functions and duties as assigned the other months. Tentative hours are 4:00am to 12:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and 6:00am to 2:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Possibility of some over-time including on weekends and holidays as needed.

Collection of garbage containers. Cleans and provides routine inspection and preventive maintenance on vehicle and equipment. Respond to citizen questions at curbside.
Assists with snow removal as needed. Assists with street repairs as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Wisconsin Driver's license. Valid CDL Certification.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities EQUIPMENT USED: Motorized vehicles including a Garbage Truck. Shovels and brooms. Hand tools such as hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers.
Power tools including saws and sanders. Chainsaws. Material handling equipment Snow plow.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time. Ability to work safely.
Ability to set up proper basic work zone traffic control. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
