Salary:ย ย 20.39/hour upon hire, 22.66 upon completion of 6months.ย  5% shift differential applies to 2nd and 3rd shifts worked.

POSITION:

This hourly position is under direction of a Workleader or supervision of a Building Services Supervisor. Responsible for the cleanliness and order of areas to which assigned.ย ย 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include but are not specifically limited to the following:

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips and polish floors.

Cleans, dusts and disinfects furniture, fixtures or equipment as necessary.

Cleans glass.

Wash walls.

Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment to accommodate cleaning or to set up areas for events.

Collects and removes all rubbish to appropriate areas.

Polishes metal fixtures or trimmings.

Replaces incandescent/fluorescent luminaries while working at floor level in desk lamps, floor lamps, and wall lights in offices and vacant student rooms during the summer.

Secures assigned areas after work is completed.

Cleans and clears all entrance ways outside of buildings.

Works when necessary from step ladders six feet or less in height.

Spreads snow/ice melting agents and broom/squeegee snow as directed.

Separates, collects, and removes recyclable materials to appropriate areas.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily clean-up of all assigned work areas - remove material, tools, and debris; maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas in a good, clean condition; report faulty equipment to supervision

Notifies the Supervisor of unusual conditions caused by the work - power interruptions, smoke alarm trips, utility service shut-offs, etc.

Assists any other Facilities Management employee if assistance is requested.
