Title: Cleaning Custodian
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Schools and Business Manager, employee is responsible for daily cleaning of classrooms and bathrooms.
Hours of Work
  • Hours are 1:00pm to 9:30pm or 2:00pm to 10:30pm during the school year and during the summer 7:00 to 3:30 typically

Essential Functions:
  • Cleans classrooms, common areas, cafeteria, kitchen. Vacuums and sweeps hallways.
  • Compact garbage, remove trash from building along with daily recycling of cardboard and paper. Laundering of towels, mop heads, and dust mops for daily use.
  • Any or all other duties as assigned.

Equipment
Uses tools including brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and shovels.
Safety Requirements
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
Wears appropriate safety gear, including masks.
Must comply with school district's chemical hygiene program and follow MSDS sheets.
Travel Requirements
Working between both buildings is needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with principal and others.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to describe orally or in writing cleaning, maintenance or repair problems as needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to work above ground from ladders and automatic lifts.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Works in standard office and school building environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, solvents and contaminated trash, grasses, pollens, etc.

Qualifiications Profile
  • Salary starts at $43,000 and could be more if like experience. We offer holiday pay, vacation, sick, personal leave as well as health insurance benefits. Paying $720 a month towards a health plan.
