Duties, Responsibilities & Other
The Water/Wastewater Engineering Designer will design and prepare drawings for water/wastewater projects. The Water/Wastewater Engineering Designer will work closely under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, contributing to engineering calculations, drafting, and coordination of multiple engineering disciplines. This role requires a knowledge of engineering principles, relevant design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit, as well as strong communication, technical writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop design and prepare drawings for water/wastewater projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist with proposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee, contract management and billing.
  • Coordinate and work with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs.
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and ensure that they meet project requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical documents necessary for job performance.
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required to ensure project success.
  • Attend bi-weekly (or more frequent, as necessary) meetings with the project team to discuss project progress and tasks.
  • Ensure that all projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements and operate within specified budget parameters.
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targets.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
  • Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to maintain required certification.
