Job Description

Game Developer

GDIT is the Prime contractor for the Flight School Training Support Services (FSTSS) program, which supports the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE). Located in Daleville, Alabama. GDIT owns and operates the facilities that provide flight simulator training.

GDIT has an immediate opening in their Test and Engineering Team for a Game Developer. This position may require working non-traditional hours and weekends to support customer training requirements.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Assist with OneSAF (Semi-Automated Forces) development, adding models, behaviors, and features required in battle simulations for aviation mission training.
  • Assist with simulated terrain development
  • Tasked with software and visual content development projects for flight simulators and simulation environments

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Required Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Ability to support multiple Sites and Contracts t
  • Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong foundational knowledge of 3D modeling, including techniques for developing low-poly and high-poly models.
    • Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Creator, 3DS Max, Blender)
    • Proficient with image editing and texture development using Photoshop or equivalent software.
    • Software development with Java, C/C++, and/or Python
    • Comfortable working under Linux/Bash
    • Will be able to design and implement software solutions and 3D visual content to support aviation simulation training
    • ITAR Requirement
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Desires Skills:
    • Experience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper)
    • Skilled with personal computers, Microsoft 365 software and data repository software.
    • Good planning and organizational skills.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, including remote and virtual teams.
  • Location: Onsite in Daleville, AL
  • Travel: Less than 10%

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
