# Community Relations Coordinator## Washington Commanders•### @CommandersPosted on 8/13/2026•Full-time## Job DescriptionThe Washington Commanders Community Relations department is actively seeking a meticulous and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Community Relations Coordinator. The ideal candidate will embody a professional demeanor, demonstrating clear communication skills with executives at all levels, both internally and externally. This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, requiring adept multitasking to handle various responsibilities while meeting challenging deadlines. Independence, initiative, and the ability to make informed decisions are essential traits for success in this position. \*\*Key Responsibilities:\*\*Assist in the planning, coordinating, and executing multiple high-profile events and game day experiences, encompassing aspects such as marketing, event planning, vendor selection and negotiations, volunteer recruitment and management, and silent auction item procurement.* Oversee and assist in executing elements of Community Relations sponsorship contracts, community events, encompassing media, digital assets, signage, special events, program events and initiatives, hospitality, and in-game promotions.* Assist in Game Day preparation, including the creation of Game Day Production notes on behalf of the CR team, ticket fulfillment, and managing suite orders.* Act as a strategic thinker, offering consultancy for partners and demonstrating expertise in their respective categories.* Support the planning and execution community events, and engagement activities, ranging from ROS, staffing plans, volunteer coordination, project schedules, calendars, and operational resources to ensure successful program execution.* Coordinate assigned NFL cause marketing initiatives, including Crucial Catch, Inspire Change, and other league-wide campaigns.* Identify storytelling opportunities, monitor current events, and support initiatives that strengthen community engagement and organizational impact.* Collaborate on website and social media content to ensure consistent, aligned with the Commanders messaging.* Facilitate the in-kind donation program, including request fulfillment, inventory tracking, replenishment, and impact measurement.* Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships and internal departments to align community initiatives, develop content, and maximize impact across digital, social, web, and in-person platforms.* Support the Community Relations Interns through recruitment, onboarding, training, and engagement in impactful projects and community initiatives.* Support departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and other duties as assigned.**Qualifications and Requirements:*** A College degree and a minimum of one year of work experience in charitable organizations, fundraising, marketing, events, community relations, and/or media are required.* Graduate degree and/or experience working in or with professional sports are desirable.* Must be able to commute to our College Park, MD offices, the stadium/event center as well as the BigBear.ai Training Facility in Ashburn, VA.* Availability and willingness to work all Commanders home games and assigned events, which may include nights and weekends.* Familiarity with Social Media is preferred.* Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are imperative.* Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal and corporate relationships.* Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.* A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Proven experience in handling confidential information appropriately.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class. #J-18808-Ljbffr
