Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Heavy Cleaning Crew Member is an important member of the Spokane Tribe Casino operations
team. They are responsible for performing guest service, cleaning duties, communicating
promotions, and responding to calls for janitorial service throughout the property. The Heavy
Cleaning Crew Member interacts daily with guests and teammates and must uphold the Spokane
Tribe Casino’s mission of exceeding guests’ expectations.
The Heavy Cleaning Crew Member will work assigned grave shifts to ensure that the Spokane Tribe
Casino is kept in a clean, safe, and comfortable state. The Heavy Cleaning Crew Member will
perform Heavy Cleaning during the slow hours of business to ensure there is minimal interruption
to the Gaming Floor.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Must uphold guest service standards and work toward the mission of exceeding guests’
expectations. The HCCM will be tasked with not only the heavy cleaning during the non-peak times
at the Spokane Tribe Casino, but may also be required to perform the normal duties of the EVS
Attendant. Below is a list of duties that may be required. (The following statements are intended
as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all-inclusive for specific positions.)
HCCM DUTIES:
• Floor maintenance.
a) Strip and wax floors
b) Shampoo Carpets
• Kitchen maintenance/ Server stations/bars.
a) Clean Walls
b) Clean under all equipment
c) Clean drains
d) Clean vent hoods
e) Pressure wash floors
• Rest Room Maintenance.

• General Maintenance.
a) Clean walls, ceilings, lights, and fixtures.
b) Clean floor Vents
c) Clean duct work
d) Clean Windows
e) Clean counters, tables, chairs, and railings.
d) Clean and maintain floors in restaurant
• Clean and maintain walls in BOH hallways.
• Perform special projects as directed.
• Operate and maintain all types of cleaning equipment.
• Properly executes the 10/5, 1st
- last core standard.
• Efficiently complete all duties while maintaining top notch guest service skills.
• Assist facilities engineers with property maintenance when there are adverse weather
conditions.
• Notify CSM or Facilities team of any safety concerns that may arise.
• Must be able to work as a Team and communicate with other team members,
supervisor, and management.
Other duties as assigned.
EVS ATTENDANT DUTIES:
• Carpet Maintenance
a) Vacuums and sweeps.
b) Remove stains, gum, and debris.
• Window Maintenance
a) Clean all glass and mirrors in assigned areas.
b) Clean all slot machine signage in assigned areas.
c) Clean all overhead brass.
• Office Maintenance
a) Clean walls, ceilings, vents, lights, and fixtures in office areas.
b) Clean glass and mirrors in office areas.
c) Clean and polishes brass in office areas.
d) Porter pans, vacuums, and spot clean carpets.
e) Vacuum and dusts furniture.
f) Remove trash from receptacles.
• Rest Room Maintenance
a) Clean sinks, toilets, urinals, and counters.
b) Sweeps and mops hard floors.
c) Polish mirrors, stainless steel, and chrome.
d) Clean walls, ceilings, lights, and vents, doors, and partitions.
e) Fill paper and soap dispensers.
f) Empty trash receptacles.
• General Maintenance
a) Clean walls, ceilings, lights, and fixtures.
b) Clean glass and mirrors.
c) Clean and polishes brass.
d) Empty trash receptacles.
e) Clean counters, tables, chairs, and railings.
f) Dust furniture.
g) Sweep and mop floors.
h) Clean slot machine bases.
i) Clean gaming tables.
j) Empty dirty linen containers.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have ability to:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Work in varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon
location in the casino and customer volume.
• Must interact with Guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
• Safely work with various types of chemicals, proper precautions are taken.
• Occasionally work outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is
provided.
• Effectively and efficiently move around work area.
• Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.
• Inspect and clean areas of responsibility.
• Use ladders, as well as clean ground level areas.
• Lift and move up to 100 pounds on an as needed basis; ability to lift and move between 10
and 20 pounds frequently throughout shift.
• Transport all supplies to and from work areas.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least six months of prior janitorial experience.
o Floor care preferred and will be given preference in consideration.
• Must have excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position including moving around
effectively, being on feet for long periods of time, using cleaning chemicals, and using
ladders and other cleaning tools.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every employee has the following
responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
• Obtain and maintain a License C with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
• Attend required training sessions offered by the Casino.
• Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in
gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating
to the employee’s department.
• Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
• Must be able to uphold a high standard of integrity and confidentiality as access to
restricted areas may be required.
• Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
