Job description

FrameShift is a Roblox game studio based in Miami. We started in 2024 with a simple goal: make games on Roblox that are actually worth playing. We're a small team โ€” which means the people we bring in have a real say in what we build and how we build it.

About this role

You'd be figuring out what the game actually is โ€” the loops, the systems, how progression works, what keeps people coming back. You'd write the specs that programmers build from and stay involved until it ships right.

You Will
  • Define and document core gameplay loops, progression systems, and economy structures
  • Write design specifications that engineers can build from without needing constant hand-holding
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Art to validate that implemented features match design intent
  • Iterate on mechanics based on playtesting feedback and live game data
  • Maintain a central design reference document for the current game in development
You Have
  • Experience designing systems for live or shipped games
  • Can write a clear design doc that programmers can actually use
  • Some feel for economy design, progression, or both
  • Comfortable working in Notion, Linear, or comparable project management tools
  • Roblox experience is a plus โ€” you should at least understand the platform
