Role:

The Retail Sales Associate is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service in an establishment that encourages a rich customer experience around gaming and creative play. This role demonstrates a strong desire to help grow the gaming community and provides world class customer service. The Retail Sales Associate connects with our customers through meaningful sales conversations to identify each guests needs, while utilizing our games library and showcasing our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently greets each customer as they enter the store and acknowledge them as they are leaving.
  • Maximize time on the main floor, utilizing the cash wrap area only to complete transactions, answer the phone and respond to lending library requests or request list inquiries.
  • Guides customers through our product selection; match game characteristics to the customer's interests.
  • Actively and continuously seeks to learn and play new games in order to showcase product to customers throughout the store and restaurant.
  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of our best sellers and their rules of play, to fluidly answer questions for customers gaming in our spaces.
  • Inform and encourage customers to attend events that are applicable to their interests.
  • Develops relationships with customers and people who work within various gaming communities.
  • Maintains additions to the Customer Request log.
  • Complete transactions on the POS, including but not limited to sales, returns, exchanges and end of day reconciliation.
  • Complete transactions on our admin website, including but not limited to online order pickups and sell order drop offs.
  • Merchandise and dust product displays based on company standards on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the store aesthetic through the elimination of clutter and cleaning in all customer facing areas of the store.
  • Consistently follow opening or closing procedures inclusive of alarm usage and partnering with Restaurant and Facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience in a retail or customer service role.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work within hours of operation.
  • Quickly learns and retains knowledge of various genres and mechanics of game play, and multiple hundreds of game titles.
  • Can identify gaming trends, and continuously stays abreast of new games and trends in gaming.
  • Possess a genuine interest in gaming and creative play.
  • Teaches all manner of games to a diverse audience of both small and large groups of varying gaming experience.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work well with a group.
  • Ability to convert stressful situations into positive experiences.
  • Maintains a professional and positive manner when working with customers and other staff.
  • Proficient in cash handling methods, including end of day reconciliation and general utilization of the POS and our online admin website.
  • Demonstrates experience in credit transactions that protect customer information.
  • Possess the ability to use common security systems and follow escalation protocols.
  • Possess a deep knowledge of Board Games, Miniature Gaming, Role Playing Games and/or Magic the Gathering. (Preferred)
