Position Summary
Sports information assistant provides support in three areas: game operations, promotions and office administration. Promotions responsibilities include distributing posters, schedules, and flyers throughout campus as well as overseeing the operation of contests and promotions at home events. Office administrative functions include filling media requests, word processing, and historical research.
Education/Experience
Must be a currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
Good writing ability.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and desktop publishing software
Strong interest in sports and a willingness to handle a wide variety of duties.
Good communication skills, ability to work well with others.
Physical Requirements
Light work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Fingering, standing and/or sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal. Subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside.
Essential Functions
Pre-game duties include game notes and game programs.
Game day operations include statistics compilation and other duties as necessary.
Post-game includes website maintenance and distribution of results.
Office tasks include writing press releases, NCAA and conference reporting.
Serve as primary contact for select sports as assigned.
Assist with video, radio and TV broadcasts as needed.
