Coinflow enables businesses to grow faster with instant settlement, fraud & chargeback indemnity, global pay-ins, multi-currency FX, and unified payouts. Founded in 2023, the company serves marketplaces, fintechs, remittance providers, gaming platforms, and ecommerce merchants worldwide.
Since our seed round in 2024, we've achieved 23x revenue growth and scaled to multi-billion-dollar annual transaction volume. In response to this growth, Coinflow announced a $25M Series A in October 2025-led by Pantera Capital, CMT Digital, Coinbase Ventures, Jump Crypto, and Reciprocal Ventures-accelerating our mission to power the world's fastest-moving businesses with innovative, reliable global payments.
Coinflow is proudly headquartered in Chicago, IL. Learn more at coinflow.cash.
About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the core infrastructure powering global payments. You'll design and implement systems that process billions of dollars in transactions, working across our payment orchestration layer, merchant APIs, and real-time settlement engine.
This is a high-impact role where your code ships to production quickly and handles real money from day one. You'll collaborate closely with Product to shape what we build, with fellow engineers on how we build it, and have significant ownership over the systems you create.
What You'll Do
Build Core Payment Infrastructure
  • Design and implement payment processing systems that handle high throughput and strict reliability requirements
  • Build APIs and SDKs that merchants use to integrate Coinflow into their platforms
  • Develop fraud detection and risk management features using real-time data analysis

Scale Our Platform
  • Architect systems for performance, reliability, and observability at scale
  • Optimize database queries, caching strategies, and service communication patterns
  • Instrument services for monitoring, alerting, and debugging production issues

Ship Product Features
  • Work end-to-end on features from technical design through deployment and iteration
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions
  • Balance speed of delivery with code quality and long-term maintainability

Improve How We Work
  • Contribute to technical decisions around architecture, tooling, and best practices
  • Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing
  • Help shape engineering culture as the team grows

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; experience with React is a plus
  • Deep understanding of REST API design, relational and document databases (especially MongoDB), and distributed systems concepts
  • Experience building systems that handle high transaction volumes or strict correctness requirements
  • Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized deployments
  • Track record of shipping and maintaining production systems
  • Clear communicator who can discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers and non-engineers alike
  • Bonus: Experience in payments, fintech, or blockchain/crypto

The base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000 USD. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, qualifications and business needs.
In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible for an equity grant, allowing you to share in the long-term success of the company. You will also have access to a wide array of benefits, including health and wellness benefits, 401(k) savings plan, and flexible time off.
Join the team rewriting how money moves worldwide-and become a driving force in the $194 trillion cross-border payments market.
