Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Senior Network Engineer to manage the infrastructure and network services supporting millions of players across our game franchises. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of an internationally established team, while also possessing the ability to manage projects on their own. This is an ideal job for someone who wants to work with the latest network technologies in a very exciting and challenging field.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar's new state-of-the-art game development studio in Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT WE DO
  • The Rockstar Games Online Services Team is a passionate development group, focused on growing and maintaining the technology platform that powers Rockstar's online titles and our ability to deliver world-class player experiences.
  • The Network Operations team is responsible for the delivery and support of Rockstar's Online network infrastructure around the world.
  • We maintain our network to the highest standard with strong emphasis on preventative actions rather than reactive. As such, we constantly review our processes with the aim of automating/orchestrating wherever possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN/Edge network equipment and related services across multiple geographies.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Install and maintain network hardware in remote co-location facilities.
  • Assist in network operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
  • Interface with various service providers to deploy and maintain transport circuits.
  • Interface with developers and business stakeholders to identify requirements and recommend and engineer solutions as agreed upon by the team.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years working in network engineering related fields.
  • Solid understanding of Cisco NX-OS operating system.
  • Solid understanding of the BGP routing protocol.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Solid documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with taking projects from planning through to completion.
  • Capacity to juggle a mixture of break-fix and project work, managing individual priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours, or out of hours as required.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
  • Strong understanding of Arista EOS operating system.
    Experience with routing protocols like EIGRP and or OSPF.
  • Experience with layer 2/3 switching/routing technologies, VXLAN, VLAN, EVPN, VPC, MLAG.
  • Experience with load balancer technologies like F5 LTM or A10 ADC.
  • Industry standard qualifications like CCNA/CCNP desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
  • Experience with scripting in PowerShell, Python, Ansible.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls.
  • Experience using/supporting enterprise monitoring tools (Elasticsearch/Splunk).
  • Open-source infrastructure monitoring (CheckMK/Nagios).
  • Application and web service administration (IIS/Apache).
  • Being a fan of the interactive software development and gaming.

The pay range for this position in San Diego at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. $120,200-$145,200 USD
