Overview
Perform engineering work using extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating, selecting, modifying, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for electrical systems of varying size and the highest complexity.
Responsibilities
1. Preliminary design, budgetary estimating, and scheduling.
2. Detailed design, estimating, and scheduling.
3. Equipment specification, proposal evaluation and requisitioning.
4. Engineering calculations to assure safety and performance of equipment and systems.
5. Selection and application of appropriate Engineering matters, equipment and systems.
6. Interdisciplinary interface for constructability and conformance to project requirements.
7. Coordinating design engineering and equipment delivery to meet construction schedules.
8. Acquisition of on-site measurements and other data to accomplish the design or enable the evaluation of equipment performance.
9. Checking completed job for quality, adequacy of design, and documentation.
1. Monitor the construction of various electrical systems as assigned to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Activities may include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Monitor construction work to assure conformance with plans and specifications.
2. Monitor work to assure compliance with applicable engineering and construction codes and practices.
3. Monitor construction schedules to ensure timely completion of the work.
4. Direct changes to the work when requested by the Project Engineer.
5. Carry out programs for the testing of materials, equipment, or plant systems at the direction of the Project Engineer.
6. Aid in evaluation and approval of contractor-s invoices.
7. Aid in receiving, inspection, and approval of equipment and materials.
8. Act as Project Engineer, when required, on projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
2. Perform complex studies and economic analyses of engineering alternatives.
3. Prepare reports and feasibility studies for submission to Management.
4. Provide budget and schedule information to the Project Manager and Management.
5. Serve as Project Engineer on assigned projects.
6. Provide expertise in the Company-s design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards and the Company document control system.
7. Be recognized as an expert in and applying Standards, both National and Local. (For example, ANSI/IEEE, National Electric Safety Code, ASTM, AIC, etc.)
8. Shall promote complete and accurate record keeping and be responsible for the quality of all work performed.
9. Shall keep informed of current developments in the areas of responsibility.
10. Lead in the professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.
11. May be required to travel to support work.
12. Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Shall be an Engineer V (Principal Engineer) or the equivalent with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of appropriate experience in the designated engineering field.
  • Shall possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program or the equivalent amount of experience in the designated engineering field.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License is required

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
