POSITION: Fall Athletics Facility Manager/AD for the 2026-2027 School Year – Various Locations

LOCATIONS:

REPORTS TO: Principal

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Athletics Faculty Manager ensures the financial arrangements concerning the school’s program of interscholastic athletics and makes all necessary arrangements for all athletic events to help ensure a viable athletic program. Collaborates with coaches to manage the timely notification and sign up process for eligible student athletes prior to the start of each athletic season. Interviews and recommends qualified athletic coaches for each sport in order to help ensure the safety and well-being of all student athletes.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to handle scheduling and management of home and away games
  • Ability to handle proper seating of teams, cheerleaders, the band and other groups
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, parents, athletes, police, safety officers, teachers, security supervisors and other game personnel
  • Ability to provide a written report of any hazardous conditions and/or problems that may arise prior to, during or after the games
  • Serve as liaison between the principals and coaches in the development of team schedules and transportation requests
  • Ability to maintain up to date and accurate account of money allocated for food allowances and athletic entry fees ensuring proper control and reasonable allocations to all sports involved
  • Attend related CIAC athletic trainings and conferences
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current teachers on staff must have a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
  • Three (3) years of successful experience in athletics, parks and recreation or a related field
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, staff members, students and parents in an urban setting
  • Successful experience working with school systems and community agencies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Hartford Public Schools’ regulations regarding coaching and athletics
  • Experience and knowledge with CIAC and NFHS regulations

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with HFT contract. Appendix B. Extra Pay for Extra Duty.
