Full Stack Senior Software Engineer (Games)

We are seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer (Games) to play a critical role in the design, development, and stewardship of our web-based games and gaming platforms. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is deeply comfortable across the stack—from frontend experiences to backend services and infrastructure—and who takes equal pride in writing high-quality code and raising the bar for the entire engineering team.

You will serve as a technical leader and mentor, ensuring that junior and mid-level engineers produce maintainable, performant, and secure code aligned with our standards and best practices.

Responsibilities Full-Stack Development
  • Build and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Python
  • Develop modern frontend applications using contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
  • Design and consume RESTful and real-time APIs, with a strong understanding of HTTP, WebSockets, and related web protocols
  • Implement efficient algorithms and data structures to solve performance-critical problems
  • Identify and proactively address technical debt
Code Quality & Best Practices
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, testing practices, and review processes
  • Perform thorough code reviews with an emphasis on clarity, correctness, performance, and maintainability
  • Advocate for and implement best practices around:
  • Version control and branching strategies
  • Automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing
Infrastructure & Systems Thinking
  • Contribute to and review Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Collaborate on cloud-based architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows
  • Ensure systems are observable, reliable, and operable in production environment
Mentorship & Team Enablement
  • Act as a senior technical resource for the engineering team
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance
  • Help engineers grow their skills in system design, debugging, and professional software practices
  • Model strong engineering judgment, communication, and ownership
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior-level responsibilities
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python
  • Deep understanding of:

    • Client-server communication and web protocols
    • Data structures and algorithms
  • Experience building and maintaining production-grade frontend and backend systems
  • Solid knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles
