Job description

Job Title: Senior Production Engineer Location: Port Arthur, TX Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Responsibilities • Oversee operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors. • Serve as a technical resource for plant operations personnel. • Apply technical skills to optimize plant operations, including yield improvement and cost-saving initiatives. • Participate in procedure reviews, development, and operator training. • Support site qualification efforts. • Lead the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors. • Understand and learn how equipment associated with campaigns operates. • Collaborate with plant utilities and support the operations team with data and chemical engineering expertise. • Work with technical advising and plant personnel to meet operational goals. • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure product specifications are met. • Assist engineering in developing cost-effective projects to optimize production. • Develop and update procedures and operating instructions for current and future production. • Troubleshoot plant operations to resolve deviations from expected performance. • Generate detailed reports including mass balances, process data analysis, and de-bottlenecking proposals. • Develop and maintain campaign schedules to meet production demands. • Ensure efficient campaign operations by collaborating with plant personnel and technical teams. • Actively participate in process and safety improvement initiatives with field operators. • Communicate technical issues across organizational levels. • Help optimize waste disposition processes for cost reduction. • Lead quarterly improvement meetings with technical advising personnel. • Conduct pre-campaign meetings to prepare for project start-ups.

Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with plant production experience. • Minimum of 10+ years of work experience in an engineering role. Some leadership/management experience also required. • Experience with distillation, process troubleshooting, process controls, batch processing, heat & material balance. • Skilled in distillation/batch processing, project design, troubleshooting. • Preferred experience with Honeywell Experion and Microsoft Project. • Willing to participate in 24/7 production call-out policy. • Ability to operate and communicate effectively across all organizational levels. • Willing to work shift hours for 30 days during the 90-day probation period. • Ability to obtain TWIC Card.
